Kimberly Guilfoyle
Kimberly Guilfoyle is a former Fox personality who is engaged to Donald Trump, Jr. The right-wing group Turning Point Action paid her $60,000 for a 3-minute introduction of Trump Jr. at the Ellipse rally immediately preceding the attack on the Capitol. She called on the crowd to “Have the courage to do the right thing: Fight!” In her January 6th testimony, Guilfoyle claimed she did not solicit funds for speaking, but texts between her and Caroline Wren show that Guilfoyle was adamant she be paid for introducing her fiance. She also reportedly pushed for far-right speakers to take the stage.
Guilfoyle also bragged in texts about raising $3 million for the Jan. 6 events from Publix heiress Julie Fancelli. Guilfoyle built a relationship with Fancelli through her role as national chair of the Trump Victory finance committee, one of Trump’s 2020 reelection fundraising arms. Fancelli solicited money for the PAC from her friends and gave over $500,000 herself.
The January 6th committee questioned Guilfoyle for more than 9 hours. That session included discussion of two calls she made on January 9 and 14, 2021 to David Schaeffer, a fake elector in Georgia who was part of Trump’s conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election. Guilfoyle claimed to know who Schaeffer was, but to not recall the reason for those calls. Notably, she was in Georgia in November 2020 where she attended a meeting with Cleta Mitchell, who was aiding Trump’s efforts to overturn the election. Guilfoyle also traveled to Georgia for a January 4 Senate runoff rally where she and then-President Trump spread false claims about the election.
Guilfoyle was a host on Fox. She was reportedly pushed out of her position for impropriety, including displaying pornography and lewd pictures of male genitalia to work colleagues. One young woman, Guilfoyle’s assistant and direct report who drafted a forty-two page complaint against Guilfoyle for alleged sexual harassment, received a multimillion dollar out-of-court settlement. Sources have alleged that, among other complaints, Guilfoyle displayed herself naked to the victim, spoke in detail about her own sex life, demanded a massage of her bare thighs, encouraged the victim to critique Guilfoyle’s naked body, required sleepovers, and more. Other sources claim Guilfoyle tried to silence the victim with hush money and professional opportunities before the complaint was filed. Guilfoyle also allegedly contributed to Fox’s culture of a sexually hostile work environment, including pressuring Fox employees to back the network’s sexual serial harasser Roger Ailes, according to sources.
After Guilfoyle left Fox in July 2018, she joined the Trump reelection campaign as the vice-chair of the America First Action super PAC, before leading the fundraising for “Trump Victory.” In 2020, Guilfoyle reportedly made donors uncomfortable with “sexually suggestive” comments, joking about her sex life, and offering to give a lap dance to the donor who contributed the most to the campaign at one event. Under Guilfoyle, Trump fundraising was reportedly in “disarray,” with staffers leaving, inexperienced hires, and accusations of irresponsible spending.
She also took in $15,000 per month in secret payments from the Trump campaign in 2020, in addition to her formal payments for fundraising for the campaign.
Guilfoyle crisscrossed the country speaking in support of his campaign, particularly making claims about how he would support women. During the 2020 RNC, she gave a speech endorsing Trump that was notable and criticized for its screaming nature.
Since 2022, Guilfoyle has been the National Finance Chair for Make America Great Again Policies, a 501(c)(4) group that promotes Trump policies.
Guilfoyle is an attorney who was an assistant district attorney in San Francisco and Los Angeles. She was also briefly married to Gavin Newsom, who is now the Governor of California. Before dating Trump, Jr., she was also briefly married to the heir to a luxury furniture fortune. In 2016, Guilfoyle was a contender for Trump press secretary, but Sean Spicer got that position. During the 2020 campaign, her name was floated to replace Ronna McDaniel post-election as the Chair of the Republican National Committee. Lara Trump, the spouse of Trump’s son, Eric Trump, got the nod for that post in 2024.
